University! Often regarded as the best years of one’s life. But where do you start? How do you start? Which University do you want to go to? There is a myriad of things to think about when transitioning from A-Levels to University. In this episode, me and Ahmed have a conversation about my application to university. We dive into my application for engineering and look at certain elements specific to the Oxbridge process. I know many of you won’t know what specific University you want to apply to or even the course you want to study and that is alright. There are many ways you can try and explore your interests to pick something. Most importantly, I think this comes in the form of tryingthings out, whether that be in the form of open days for university or trying to learn a completely new skill that may be related to a course or career.
If you have already applied to university, we also discuss the crucial aspect of financing university. It can get very expensive without proper budgeting, and there are many ways that you can get financial support for your application and university life. We talk about student finance, and how the student loans work for UK students: loans can be provided to cover both the University tuition fees and the costs of living. You do not have to take out a student loan, and you can self-finance should you wish to.
University really is an exciting period of our lives as students. Whether you are a prospective student or already an applicant, there is something in here for you. Join me, Ahmed, and Ella as we delve into the ins and outs of university applications. After all, I can’t spoil everything here :)
